a/ General introduction:
MBW is software for analysis and design of strip foundation structure made of reinforced concrete; the final results are technical drawings. The software is also used in analysis and design of cross beam system on elastic ground.
b/ Functions of the software
* Data Input
- Graphics interface interactive with user, enabling user to zoom in, zoom out, adjust view angle, and select elements flexibly. User can easily modify data in the graphic environment of the software.
- Sample of structure geometry as rectangular grid.
- Full of geometric sections of beam elements such as rectangular, T-shaped, I-shaped and box-shaped sections.
- Data of soil properties could be described under the form of ground coefficient (Winkle factor) or automatically determined by the software, in which user then needs to input detailed data of soil properties for every soil layers.

- Load member can be uniform load or concentrated load.
- Automatically determine gravity load of elements.
- Include 3 flexible methods of selection of combination factor: based on name of load cases, based on group of load cases, or by input directly.
- Including all designing parameter according to design Standard of reinforced concrete.
* Analysis and design
- In case of the cross beam system on elastic soil, the program automatically defines ground reaction coefficient in 2 ways: (1) determining value of coefficient by divide the stress at bottom of foundation to the displacement of foundation or (2) the Bowles method. - Analyze and calculate internal force of strip foundation structure or of cross beam system based on the finite element method.
- Combine internal forces, determine force envelop for each element.
- Design elements of reinforced concrete girder followed Vietnamese standard 5574-91.
* Result display
- Graphics environment represents results such as structure plan, load diagram, displacement diagram, internal force diagram (bending moment, shear force, twisting moment), and diagram of reinforcement. - Query and print detailed results for each node and member in graphics interface.
- Including all reports of internal force of members, displacement of nodes, results of designing reinforced concrete elements, results of examining steel trusses.
- Automatically configure reinforcement in member of reinforced concrete strip foundation, enable modifying drawing in the software's design environment, and create drawing of strip foundation system including foundation plan, details of foundation beams, sections and statistic table of reinforcement. The drawing meets requirements of structure and can be export into other drawing software.
