OpenFlows Water & Sewer 2026 – Bentley’s Powerful Software Duo

OpenFlows Water & Sewer 2026 is the latest release, featuring significant improvements in performance and analytical capabilities, along with new AI-powered tools that help water and wastewater engineers optimize system analysis, design, and operation.

In June 2026, Bentley Systems officially launched Version 2026 of its OpenFlows Water and OpenFlows Sewer hydraulic analysis solutions. This release introduces significant improvements in performance and analytical capabilities, as well as new AI-powered tools that help water and wastewater engineers optimize system analysis, design, and operation.

Some notable improvements include:

1 – Expanded Coordinate System Support

Users can define the coordinate systems of external data, and the software will automatically transform them when necessary to align with the model’s coordinate system:

• ModelBuilder

• LoadBuilder

• Terrain Extractor (Trex)

• Thiessen Polygon

• Other background layer types

This feature makes it easier to synchronize external data with the hydraulic model without requiring GIS integration. Users can also modify the model’s coordinate system without using external data-conversion workflows. Simply change the model’s coordinate system in the “Options” dialog box and select “Reproject” for the software to perform the transformation automatically.

A map has also been added to the coordinate system selection dialog box, showing the geographic area covered by the selected coordinate system. This allows users to check and confirm whether the chosen coordinate system is appropriate.

3 – Bentley Copilot

Version 2026 introduces Bentley Copilot, an artificial intelligence assistant that supports natural-language interaction and offers strong contextual understanding. It can guide users through workflows, locate relevant documentation, modify model input parameters, and analyze input and output data through conversational interaction. Bentley Copilot eliminates the need to remember the locations of individual tools or complex query syntax. This helps reduce working time, shorten the software learning curve, and allow engineers to focus more closely on technical decisions, thereby accelerating project delivery.

In addition, the latest release includes several other enhancements, such as: the “Find Connected in Zone” query added to Network Navigator; the ability to rearrange and relabel flushing events; export of element decoration lines, including dashed lines, as shapefiles; improved support for FlexTable filters in Custom Reports; an Export to Word feature added to Graphs and FlexTables; text output for formula-derived User Data Extensions; and performance improvements for Water Quality and MSX.
