CIC made a strong impression at the Science, Technology and Innovation Conference on digital transformation in the building materials industry with a forward-looking presentation on the LCA–EPD toolset, supporting enterprises on their journey toward sustainable development.

On January 17, 2026, the Vietnam Association of Building Materials (VABM) successfully organized a scientific conference under the theme “Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation in the Building Materials Industry.

The event brought together leading experts, representatives the Ministry of Construction, and pioneering enterprises to discuss advanced technological solutions and the roadmap for modernizing the building materials sector in the digital era.

CIC – A Pioneer in Delivering Digital and Green Solution Ecosystems

With more than 30 years of experience in consulting and technology transfer, CIC has affirmed its position as a pioneer in providing a comprehensive ecosystem of digital and technical solutions. CIC’s mission is to deliver modern software solutions, equipment, and information technology services that help engineers and enterprises optimize production productivity and management efficiency.

In particular, in the current context of digitalization and sustainability requirements, CIC is committed to being a strategic partner for building materials enterprises throughout their digital transformation and sustainable green transition.

LCA and EPD – A Foundation for a Green Building Materials Industry

As a sponsor and technical support partner of the conference, Mr. Tran Ngoc Quynh, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development Consulting and Technical Technology Solutions at CIC Technology and Consulting Joint Stock Company, delivered a presentation titled: Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) – A Foundation Toward a Green Building Materials Industry.”

The CIC representative emphasized that the application of in-depth technical solutions such as LCA and EPD is a key factor enabling enterprises to enhance competitiveness and improve transparency regarding product environmental impacts in the global market.

LCA and EPD: Core Tools for Transparency and Production Optimization

During the presentation, CIC clarified the role of LCA–EPD as a modern measurement toolkit supporting innovation in manufacturing processes:

    • Life Cycle Assessment (LCA): A scientific methodology that enables enterprises to comprehensively quantify and analyze environmental impacts throughout the entire product life cycle, raw material extraction and production to end-of-life stages. LCA data helps identify environmental “hotspots,” serving as a basis for technological improvement and resource optimization.
    • Environmental Product Declaration (EPD): Based on verified LCA results, EPDs are developed and published in accordance with international standards such as ISO 14025 and EN 15804. EPDs function as a “green passport,” enabling Vietnamese products to meet stringent international market requirements while enhancing brand credibility and transparency.

Convergence of Advanced Technologies and Innovative Solutions

In addition to CIC’s technical contributions, the conference highlighted a wide range of innovative technology trends presented by participating organizations, including:

    • Analysis of research trends in material applications aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
    • Circular economy models utilizing waste thermal power plants in building material production.
    • Practical experiences in applying digital technologies and robotics in operations management to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions and improve energy efficiency.
    • Technical innovations transitioning manual processes to full automation, delivering high-quality and environmentally friendly products.
    • Innovative solutions for producing non-fired bricks construction waste.

Driving Sustainable Transformation in the Building Materials Industry

The conference concluded with a strong message: science, technology, and innovation are the key drivers for the sustainable transformation of Vietnam’s building materials industry.

Contributions organizations such as CIC, through practical technical solutions like LCA and EPD, are expected to create meaningful breakthroughs, bringing the industry closer to modern, transparent, and globally recognized standards.
