•    ETABS v19: Introduced advanced short-term and long-term slab deflection analysis, cloud-based licensing, and significant user experience enhancements.
•    ETABS v20: Improved wall plastic hinge modeling, enhanced viscous damper link elements, and updated design codes (CSA A23.3-19, among others).
•    ETABS v21: Expanded nonlinear frame hinge capabilities for superior seismic performance modeling.
•    ETABS v22: Added Vietnamese Wind Load Code TCVN 2737:2023, auto-generation of plastic hinges per ASCE 41-23, and advanced steel design updates aligned with AISC 360-22 and CSA S16-19.

SAP2000: Comprehensive Structural Analysis and Design Platform

•    SAP2000 v23–v26: Enhanced linear and nonlinear dynamic analysis, Model Explorer for intuitive navigation, cloud licensing flexibility, and new structural damping models (e.g., Sumitomo Viscoelastic Dampers). Support for the latest global and Vietnamese codes further improves compliance and project quality.

Next-Generation Product Innovations

Looking to the future, CSI unveiled new product lines currently in development, designed to revolutionize structural engineering workflows:

•    CSi Steel: Specialized software for the design and optimization of complex structural steel buildings.
 

•     CSi Connection: Purpose-built tool for advanced steel connection design and validation.

•    CSi Tower: Comprehensive solution for modeling and designing electrical transmission towers and telecommunication towers.

•   CSi AI: Artificial Intelligence (AI) will soon be integrated into CSI’s software suite, enabling users to automate tasks such as grid definition, geometry input, and model parameter adjustments, significantly enhancing productivity and accuracy.

Local Impact: Vietnamese Code Integration & Global Best Practices

Of particular significance for the Vietnamese engineering community, CSI announced that Vietnamese Structural Design Standards (TCVN) for concrete and steel design will be officially integrated into ETABS v23 and SAP2000 v27. This initiative will streamline the design process for local projects, ensuring seamless compliance with national standards and promoting international project competitiveness.
