CSI has officially released ETABS v23.3.0 – the latest intermediate update following the success of version v23.2.0. With continuous improvements, ETABS continues to affirm its position as one of the world’s leading software solutions for the modelling, analysis and design of high-rise building structures.
ETABS has long been an indispensable tool for structural engineers worldwide. With the ability to handle complex tasks ranging geometric modelling and dynamic analysis to detailed design in accordance with international and Vietnamese standards, including TCVN, ETABS helps optimise the design process while ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and structural safety.

ETABS v23.3.0 is an important update released by CSI to provide users with improved stability and optimised performance. Upgrading to the latest version helps engineers:
For structural design, ETABS v23.3.0 adds support for the design of conventional reinforced concrete and post-tensioned concrete slabs in accordance with the Canadian standard CSA A23.3:2024.

For loading functions, ETABS v23.3.0 adds the automatic wind-load standard KDS 41 12 00:2022. This includes the automatic calculation of gust-effect factors for rigid and flexible structures based on the dominant mode shape, with options to include crosswind and torsional wind effects where appropriate.

Data import and export have also been improved. ETABS v23.3.0 now supports tabular data in SQLite format.

For structural modelling, a new Storey Inertia Forces table has been added. It provides inertia forces at each storey for modal and response-spectrum load cases, eliminating the need to calculate these values using section cuts as previously required.

Load calculations during the creation of element models have been improved to enhance performance.
For programming through the Application Programming Interface – API, ETABS v23.3.0 now supports API client applications targeting .NET 10 when accessing the API through COM.

Output and display functions have also been improved. In ETABS v23.3.0, the program’s behaviour for section cuts defined by groups has been updated. When a section cut includes an automatically meshed area object and all of its defining joints, the section cut now includes all internal elements and program-generated joints associated with that automatically meshed area. This change only affects cases in which section cuts are used to calculate internal joint forces, such as inertia forces or applied acceleration forces. It does not affect section cuts defined by a cutting plane or section cuts that include only some of the joints within the area.

The user interface has also been improved. Load cases and load combinations are now arranged alphabetically in all applicable list boxes throughout the program.
