At the Policy Dialogue Forum on Green Transition Startups, held as part of the 4th P4G Summit in Hanoi (April 15–17, 2025), Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh emphasized: "Green transition is the only path to achieving Vietnam’s Net Zero emissions target by 2050." This statement reflects Vietnam's growing resolve to embed green innovation and low-carbon development at the heart of its economic transformation.
Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh speaks at the event.
Launched in 2017, P4G (Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030) brings together nine member ries—including Denmark, Vietnam, South Korea, and the Netherlands—alongside strategic partners like the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
P4G has provided financial and technical support to hundreds of micro and small enterprises working on climate adaptation solutions, fueled by investments Denmark, the Netherlands, and South Korea.
The P4G Summit is held biennially and serves as a global platform connecting governments, businesses, and international organizations to build a sustainable, green future together. The 2025 summit in Hanoi featured over 20 expert sessions and a green exhibition space, solidifying Vietnam's leadership in the global green transition.
Vietnam is now home to more than 4,000 innovative startups, with 200–300 focused on renewable energy, environmental technology, sustainable agriculture, and the circular economy. These green enterprises are not only vital to Vietnam’s green economic growth but also accelerate the ry’s alignment with global sustainability standards.
Deputy Minister Hoang Minh reiterated:"Transforming our economic system toward circularity, low emissions, and innovation is an urgent mission. We must continue mobilizing investment and fostering a supportive ecosystem for green startups to thrive."
The Ministry of Science and Technology reaffirmed its commitment to act as a bridge within the green innovation ecosystem—connecting regulatory bodies, startups, and international partners. Forums like P4G are instrumental not only in shaping policy direction but also in catalyzing transformative green initiatives that redefine the nation’s development model.
As Vietnam undergoes a comprehensive green shift, public-private partnerships, startup support, and green technology adoption will be key enablers toward the ry’s Net Zero ambition by 2050.
